Across the gallery of notable figures invited to attend the installation, Caleb Flowers had the proud distinction as the only high school student selected to greet Bishop Zarama. The installation mass for the sixth bishop of the Diocese of Raleigh was held on August 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral.
Caleb, a senior, proudly represented John Paul II Catholic High School at the installation mass as a student that embodies the values of JPII’s mission of well-rounded scholarship in service to the Catholic church, community, and lifelong learning.
“Caleb was chosen because he is a faithful young man who has been devoted to the mission of JPII for four years. He is a high-achieving student, an active participant in student life, and he strives for excellence in everything he does. He will represent our school well,” says Debbie Sommer, assistant principal of JPII.
Caleb is applying to Princeton University, Brown University, and the University of Chicago this fall. He plans to study pre-law with a focus on international intellectual property law and environmental law.
