John Paul II Catholic High School Placed on the College Board’s 8th Annual AP District Honor Roll for Significant Gains in Student Success and Access

The College Board (collegeboard.org) has released their 8th Annual Advanced Placement District Honor Roll and John Paul II Catholic High School is the only high school in Pitt County to be placed on the list. The Catholic Diocese of Raleigh, which includes John Paul II Catholic High School, is one of 447 school districts in the U.S. and Canada who earned the distinction due to the quality of Advanced Placements offered and students who earned a score of 3 or higher when tested. While the AP District Honor Roll is not a roster of higher performing districts, it is a roster of districts that are simultaneously expanding opportunity and improving performance.

“JPII is continuously striving for excellence in academics,” said Craig Conticchio, principal of John Paul II Catholic High School. “Academic excellence is always a moving target and a matter of persistent improvement. We are extremely proud of the work our students and faculty have done to gain this distinction.”

In 2017, more than 4,000 colleges and universities around the world received AP scores for college credit, advanced placement, or both, and/or consideration in the admissions process. Inclusion in the 8th Annual AP District Honor Roll is based on a review of three years of AP data, from 2015 to 2017, looking across 38 AP Exams, including world language and culture.
